Morton's Multitude of Motions Denied by Judge

There certainly is a trend when it comes to Morton and the law: Morton likes to litter the pathway with judicial nonsense in the form of time consuming motions. In the current criminal case against Morton, he filed no fewer than 22 motions challenging the legitimacy of the IRS, claiming the court held no legal authority over him, claiming he was not provided with adequate discovery, claiming the search warrant wasn't legal, and so on.

I've had firsthand experience with Morton in court when he unsuccessfully attempted to sue me for $1,000,000.  Morton even went as far to claim that my defense wasn't legit because the government said UFOs did not exist and thus I had no legal standing that Morton's many claims were a matter of public interest and were proved to be false.  In the end, Morton's motions were tossed out of court for the rubbish they were and he was ordered to immediately pay my $16,000 legal bill.

Just as has happened during Morton's past legal woes, his judicial prowess is about as graceful as
someone skiing uphill backwards with two broken legs.  In spite of piling on the legal jargon with a dizzying array of disjointed and desperate arguments, a judge dismissed all 22 of "legal expert" Morton's motions:

Defendant Sean David Morton has filed numerous motions throughout these proceedings...The court has read and considered each of these motions.  They are utterly devoid of merit and do not bear on the relevant subject matter of the criminal case against Defendants.  Further, Sean Morton has filed motions to either withdraw or strike every motion he has filed, and he indicated a desire to withdraw all of his previously submitted motions during the pretrial conference...Thus, the court DENIES all of the motions listed above without further comment.  --Federal Judge Stephen V. Wilson.

Morton's criminal trial starts April 4th at the Los Angeles Federal Courthouse at 8:30am and is expected to run three to four days.  Morton, along with his co-defendant/wife, Melissa Ann Morton, face a maximum sentence of 650 and 625 years in prison respectively if convicted on all 56 criminal counts they are charged with.  Both have entered pleas of not guilty with Melissa Morton being represented by counsel, and Sean David Morton representing himself.

United States of America v. Sean David Morton

Morton was originally exposed in
The Shameless Psychic and His Prophecy of Lies.

Looks like April is the month when the tax man comes calling and for a particular "psychic" who (once again) didn't see any of it coming, April is no exception.

April 4, 2017 may be the day of comeuppance for bogus psychic Sean David Morton (pictured left) when his criminal trial starts.  Yes, you read correctly.  You see, Morton and his wife were arrested by federal agents on January 31, 2016 after a federal grand jury returned a 56 count criminal indictment against them both.  No, that is not a typo: 56 criminal counts.  Federal agents also served a search warrant on Morton's apartment and seized documents and computers.

It appears Morton and his wife/alleged co-conspirator decided that being successfully sued by the SEC for defrauding investors out of more than $6,000,000 in what was described as a "psychic scheme" wasn't enough.

Morton and his wife are alleged to have started playing lawyer and tax consultant in a scheme where they charged people thousands upon thousands of dollars claiming they could get them out of debt and have their tax problems magically disappear.  You can get a brief run down on what happened by reading the U.S. Attorney's trial brief here.

Morton and his wife thought it'd be a great idea to do the same for themselves and even were successful in obtaining a tax refund of nearly half a million dollars in spite of Morton owing the SEC nearly $12,000,000.00, apparently having a rather heavy tax bill on top of it, and having attempted to file for bankruptcy.  I wonder how much those of us who are gainfully employed and pay our bills should be getting.

out of millions in their stock market scam feel about these
two living it up in a limo.  One elderly victim lost her
entire life savings in the scam.
Problem is, according to the IRS and U.S. Attorney General's Office, Morton and his wife filed fraudulent tax returns and bogus financial instruments for themselves and on behalf of others including Dannion Brinkely of NDE/prophecy fame.

It gets better; Morton and his wife are accused of charging people thousands upon thousands of dollars to do this even charging one couple $10,000.  The Mortons were charging this money for so-called "bond packages" they claimed would erase all debt owed to the government and other creditors.  When these bogus "bond packages" were rejected by the government, banks, and creditors, The Mortons charged people more money to help them file lawsuits which were later dismissed.

When the IRS realized Morton had obtained a nearly $500,000 return and reached out to get their money back, the IRS found Morton and his wife had immediately transferred the money the day they got it and withdrew $70K in cash, which the government claims was done to avoid the money being taken back.  It looks like Morton's wife may have taken some of the money and placed a down payment on a Mercedez Benz.

Morton said in an interview that he expected the charges to be dismissed because he isn't a "Fourteenth Amendment citizen" and claims that he and his wife do not fall under the United States Code and called the Fourteenth Amendment "insidious."  Clearly, Morton has no clue what the Fourteenth Amendment means and if the United States Code doesn't apply to him, why would he ever file a tax return or respond to any court filing?  Give the interview a listen for as long as you can stomach the nonsense Morton spouts, including Morton claiming that the U.S. Government will pay for your car and house.

The combined 56 criminal counts Morton and his wife are facing include conspiring to defraud the United States, filing false claims against the United States, passing/presenting and/or offering false or fictitious financial instruments.

The number of charges are accompanied by a hefty price to pay if they're convicted on all counts: Morton is looking at a maximum sentence of 650 years, while his wife is looking at a maximum of 625 years in prison.  Will that happen if they're convicted?  Not likely, but it looks like they each could receive a sizable prison sentence.

Trial is scheduled to start morning of April 4, 2017 at the Federal Courthouse in Los Angeles.
