The inevitable end appears to be nigh for alleged psychic scammer Sean David Morton and his wife Melissa Morton. After being accused by the Securities and Exchange Commission of fraud on March 10, 2012, The Mortons have both been keeping SEC attorneys busy with a mountain of legal ramblings they have been filing for nearly two years now.

Morton began soliciting investors through his self published newsletter, at public events, on radio programs, and through his website by promising investors that his so-called psychic powers were helping him to predict the stock market. Morton went as far as stating in his newsletter, "I have called all the highs and lows of the market, giving exact dates for rises and crashes over the last 14 years."

While promising the funds would be invested in trading foreign currencies, according to the SEC, The Mortons used about half of all investor money for that purpose and funneled nearly $250,000.00 to what Morton alleges is his nonprofit religious institute, the Prophecy Research Institute .

The Mortons were ordered by a federal judge to respond to the actual complaint and to cease the disjointed legal documents they attempted to stall the court with over issues that had previously been ruled on.

According to the SEC, The Mortons have failed to directly respond to the complaint filed against them, forcing the SEC to file for summary judgement against The Mortons. The summary judgement filing is currently being reviewed. No date for a decision has been set.

Sean David Morton was first exposed in 2001 in the undisputed investigation, The Shameless Psychic and his Prophecy of Lies. The investigation was published by ufowatchdog.com, which Morton attempted to sue and lost.

The final nail was put into a closing coffin on The Mortons in their desperate battle to put a stop to a lawsuit filed against them by the SEC. The SEC has accused Sean David Morton and Melissa Ann Morton of defrauding investors out of over $6,000,000.00. The SEC alleges The Mortons diverted funds meant for investment for personal use.

On November 03, 2001, Judge Lewis A. Kaplan issued an order denying all open motions filed by The Mortons in which they alleged the SEC had no authority. Motions filed by The Mortons appeared to be reaching and rambling, chock full of stretching the wording of statutes and making allegations of being targeted by the SEC. A small sample of the legal mumbo jumbo offered by The Mortons included this gem:

The ordered issued by Judge Kaplan stated, "For reasons set forth in the patient, painstaking and thorough report and recommendation of Magistrate Judge Michael H. Dolinger, dated March 31, 2011, (1) all of defendants' various motions, including any motion to dismiss based on a purported default by the plaintiff, are denied, and (2) plaintiffs motion for a determination that defendants were properly served is granted. All of defendants' objections to the report and recommendation and to Magistrate Judge Dolinger's orders are overruled. This order terminates all open motions."

The Mortons attempted to challenge the validity of having been served legal summons by the SEC, including Melissa Morton alleging to be a neighbor named Vicki, which unfortunately for Melissa Morton it turned out that the process server had already spoken to the real Vicki.

Sean David Morton was served in New York and got caught in an elevator where he tried to hide his face with a hat and scarf. The SEC alleges Sean David Morton went so far as to grab a phone out of the process server's hand when the server attempted to take a picture of Morton as proof.

The lawsuit against The Mortons has been reassigned to another judge and is set to proceed. The SEC is seeking to permanently restrain The Mortons from future violations of the above provisions of the federal securities laws and to forfeit all ill-gotten gains. The complaint also seeks a final judgment ordering The Mortons to provide a verified accounting of their investment activities.

The Mortons were ordered to file a response to the lawsuit filed by the SEC, but have to date failed to file a direct answer tothe charges leveld against them.

I'm curious why Morton thought it would be okay to file a lawsuit against ufowatchdog.com since I was not a resident of California at the time? Of course, this is the same Sean David Morton who claimed that I had no valid claim to have his lawsuit dismissed because he claimed, based on a newspaper article, that UFOs did not exist - this in spite of Morton's extreme views on UFOs and government conspiracies. Anyone familiar with Morton knows that contradictions abound.

The Mortons were given until October the first part of October to file a direct answer to the lawsuit filed against them, which it appears they have failed to do. The SEC appears to be poised to receive a summary judgement against The Mortons.

It looks like Sean David Morton isn't the only who has recently landed himself in hot water in Federal Court. While the matter involving Morton allegedly defrauding investors out of more than $6,000,000 is being handled in a federal civil court, but may potentially become a federal criminal matter, CSETI UFO nut Steven Greer has been charged with several federal violations.

Greer, who has been taking money from people to show them how to "vector in" UFOs and other nonsense, is alleged to have been operating on a federal wildlife refuge without permission. You can read more about it here. I'm sure Greer will use whatever part of the $2,500 he charges per person to take his "ambassador program" to help pay any fines he might be given by the court.

On March 4, 2010, the Securities & Exchange Commission (SEC) filed a lawsuit against bunk psychic Sean David Morton and his wife Melissa Ann Morton alleging the two were involved in defrauding numerous investors out of over $6,000,000.00 in a scheme where Sean David Morton said he was able to predict the outcome of the stock market.

According to the SEC, Morton promised massive returns on investments and went as far as falsely proclaiming that his investment fund had been audited by a well known investment auditing agency. The SEC also alleges that The Mortons illegally diverted several hundred thousand dollars for their own use through an unregistered non-profit organization known as the Prophecy Research Institute.

The Mortons filed a number of rambling legal documents with the court attempting to stop an initial SEC investigation and later to dispute the lawsuit. According to the SEC, The Mortons also attempted to evade being served legal papers including Melissa Morton alleging to be a neighbor named Vicki, which unfortunately for Melissa Morton it turned out that the process server had already spoken to the real Vicki.

After attempting to dodge process servers and a myriad of unconventional, if not simply ridiculous, legal maneuvering, it looks like Sean David Morton and co-defendant/wife Melissa Ann Morton (aka Melissa Granger, Melissa Thomson) have come out of hiding - online at least.

While the Securities & Exchange Commission lawsuit accusing The Mortons of defrauding one-hundred investors out of over $6,000,000.00 is continuing, The Mortons seem busy reinventing themselves online with new Facebook pages.

Melissa Morton, who is listed on Facebook as Thomson Melissa, lists her info as:

"I am the manager of Heaven & Earth. I help people reprogram the unconscious mind to rid yourself of bad habits, diseases, addictions, breakups, blocks, etc. and give intuitive advice to help you live your life to its grandest and fullest potential! Oddly enough, she doesn't list her past employers or her position managing the failed investment funds she's being sued for. I know, no one wants to put a bad job on their resume these days.

And it looks as though Sean David Morton's Facebook page is light on all of his reputed educational credentials, such as his non-existent "advanced degree in drama" or his bogus "doctorate degree in Theology."

The Internet is a great place for people to write about themselves, deflect truths, and most of al, reel in new fish...

The thing that makes this supposed comment/review suspicious is the line, "Not sure if Nick forwarded this to you..." So if the guy who supposedly wrote this had Morton's e-mail address, why would he need to have someone forward it in the first place? Smells like Morton, folks...

Not sure if Nick forwarded this to you but,
A few years back you recommended I follow Nicholas Winston, that trading stocks was going to be the best way to follow golds rise.
I didn’t know anything about trading but started following you anyway… and I bought some gold and silver coins and opened a brokerage account.
Soon after, I lost my job started renting out my residence as a vacation rental and the family stayed at my sisters …when the house was rented…. I also consulted but seeming as my bills were 10k/month at the time I lost my job, that was still not enough.
Cashing in gold coins helped kept me afloat for that year and a half of being unemployed but I also started trading.
The Nicholas’s advice made a huge difference for me!
The money I made trading made all the difference, I was able to make all my bill payments.
Last year I made 180k, the most I ever made totalling all income streams even though I was unemployed for 6 months of it!
I have just bought a house in Boise, you may know how hard it is to buy a house these days but I will be able to keep some money in my brokerage, I didn’t sell my house in CA and I have had emergency after emergency pop up but still able to purchase the second home.

To make a long story short, Thanks!
Sean you have made the difference in my life that without, like a house of cards (that most of us lead our lives), could have come tumbling down.

How many biographies can one person have? If you ask Sean David Morton this, it appears there are no limits. In yet another dizzying and ever changing biography recently posted on Morton's website, new information is added about Morton's alleged past with Morton apparently repeating many claims that have been refuted.

Morton's previous biographical incarnations were challenged and exposed by ufowatchdog.com, leading Morton in a failed legal bid to silence the ufowatchdog.com investigation exposing Morton and his claims.

Morton, among others, stands accused of committing securities fraud and bilking over one-hundred investors out of more than $6,000,000.00. A lawsuit filed by the SEC in this matter has recently moved forward after all of Morton's attempts to quash the lawsuit have failed.

Just over a year ago, the United States Securities & Exchange Commission (SEC) filed suit in New York Federal District Court against Sean David Morton and Melissa Ann Morton accusing the two, among others, with defrauding one-hundred investors out of more than $6,000,000.00 in what the SEC called a "psychic scheme."

On April 1, 2011, with Morton likely hoping it was one big April Fool's Day prank, a judge issued a ruling dismissing all of the briefs in opposition filed by The Mortons in their unsuccessful bid to have the SEC lawsuit dismissed. In the briefs, described as incoherent, rambling, and legally baseless, The Mortons alleged that they had never been properly served legal papers by the SEC.

Federal Magistrate Judge Michael H. Dolinger ruled in favor of the SEC and dismissed several petitions made to the court by The Mortons including a motion for summary judgement, a challenge regarding being served, and a ludicrous request for documents and other items that exceeded the scope of the claims. If there is one thing I believe Sean David Morton is an expert in, it would be historical revisionism. Morton has yet again rewritten his biography, one of many that have popped up over the years. I'd post the bio here, but ihis usual long winded blathering, Morton has made the bio extremely long and Blogger unfriendly - you can read it here.

Morton makes no mention of his alleged ability to accurately predict the stock market nor of the millions he claims to have made from such activities. How convenient. One thing that stuck out was Morton's claim that a self published novel that was "well reviewed" and "critically acclaimed" is supposedly moving up the charts on Amazon.com's sales list. The books is listed by Amazon.com as being ranked at 1,713,116. Maybe it moved from 1,713,117?

It's been just over a year since bunk psychic Sean David Morton was hit with a lawsuit by the Securities & Exchange Commission, which accused Morton and his wife of swindling one-hundred investors out of more than $6,000,000 in a psychic scam where Morton told investors he could use his powers to accurately predict the outcome of the market. It just never makes sense; how does a psychic not see it coming?

The litigation in this matter is onging and ufowatchdog.com has learned of the looming possibility that there may be federal criminal charges at some point. The lawsuit has progressed slowly with Morton trying everything to derail it to no avail, with his last motion to dismiss being tossed out of court.

In the meantime, Morton has once again reinvented his website, sans any real link to info, likely on his way to start promoting himself and products based on the coming 2012 lameness being spun and sold by every other new age wacko out there.

Not much else on the Morton vs. The SEC front other than litigation is still ongoing and it might be a while before it gets to court, as such cases often drag out over long periods of time. It looks like someone gave Morton a soapbox for him to stand on and, as usual, blather on about everything. There are seven parts to this interview, but just skip ahead on part one to about eight minutes in to skip the fluff.

It was a surprise to hear Morton still making the same old claims that have been clearly refuted and endorsed by the state of California courts.

While Morton has claimed to have a doctorate degree in Theology, a new claim has been made by Morton that he has a Ph.D. in "therapeutic counseling." And Morton even claimed that he has "inhand" a mathematical formula that allows "you to access the entire space-time continuum." Uh, sure.

Morton continued to rail on about the allegations made and lawsuit filed against him by the Securities & Exchange Commission, which alleges that Morton swindled investors out of more than $6,000,000.00 in a psychic scheme.

Morton said the SEC documents do not accuse him of taking any of the money. Yes, the documents do accuse Morton of illegally diverting hundreds of thousands of dollars of investor funds to his so-called non-profit organization, PRI.

Some things never change...

UPDATE: In part of the interview linked to above, Morton actually claims that the government has a star fleet in space much like Star Trek and that we built a base on the moon. Somewhere a clock is sounding, "Koo-koo. Koo-koo."

There has never been a bank account or LLC by this name and we stopped all trading accounts four years ago, after being setup, scammed and framed by the FX trader (traitor?)

Not that any of you smart people would, but PLEASE do not fall for this SCAM! Or believe the smear or the lies. This is someone's idea of a dirty trick, and not even a very good one.

We have contacted the local authorites [sic] and the FBI and have responded to all E-mail inquires regarding this matter.

Morton Issues Tirade About Ongoing Legal Woes

On September 29, 2010, Sean David Morton's e-list distributed a message suposedly written by someone named Vanessa San Souci alleging to be reporting for The American's Bulletin, Tendance Magazine, and International World Press.

What's bemusing is that the message clearly reflects the same style as Morton's writing and no reference could be found anywhere for someone named Vanessa San Souci reporting for any of the above named entities/publications. The American's Bulletin is a small subscription based paper covering personal freedoms, Tendance magazine is a foreign language website, and International World Press is a company focusing on health and wellness. A reasonable person would likely find it evident that this message is from Morton himself.

In the message, it is alleged that a civil lawsuit filed against The Mortons by a New York resident has been dismissed, that the SEC civil suit is going to go nowhere, that Morton has been "liabled" [SIC], that Morton is going to sue and so on. Later in the message, it is stated that the lawsuit will likely be dismissed. The lawsuit is still proceeding and it was Morton who was given another chance to file papers with the courts, not the plaintiff in the case.

The message states, "Sean and Melissa Morton, by the way are to be credited, for defending this entire action without an attorney but as Sui Juris, Pro Se Real Parties In Interest (Defendants)."

Frankly, the complaint and continuing briefs filed by Morton originally attempting to stop the SEC's investigation were nothing more than incoherent, conspiracy laden, finger pointing tirades that would make a first year law student blush. The question is if all of this was "on the up and up" as Morton claimed, why was there an attempt to even stop the investigation instead of just opening the accounting books? You know the saying - if you have nothing to hide...

The message goes on about how Morton was never given a chance to tell his side of the story, "...AND UPON WHICH THE TV SHOW “INSIDE EDITION” DID A SEGMENT, CHECKING NONE OF THE FACTS AND NEVER BOTHERING TO GET THE OTHER SIDE OF THE STORY!!"

Odd, considering Inside Edition confronted Morton with a camera and a reporter. When asked about the allegations of the investment scheme, Morton, clearly caught off guard, said, "I don't know what you're talking about."

With camera rolling, reporter with microphone in hand, it is nothing but dishonest to say an opportunity was not provided for Morton to tell his side of the story. The message also slams Coast To Coast AM host George Noory and staff for banning Morton from the show after the SEC served subpoenas for copies of Morton's appearances on the show.

All in all, the message is nothing short of a pep rally and back patting session clearly designed to prop the failure of Morton's alleged investment scheme on the shoulders of everyone but himself. The problem with self indulgent media is that after a while you start believing your own media...no matter how utterly ridiculous it sounds.

If a supposed psychic can predict the outcome of the stock market and other investment securities, one would make the next logical step and assume the alleged psychic could predict the outcome of a lawsuit.

Apparently not.

One investor into sean david Morton's alleged investment scheme, Christopher Bass, filed suit against The Mortons and others pertaining to his loss in the investment which Sean David Morton told investor he could predict the outcome of the foreign currencies market using his psychic powers. Aren't psychics supposed to be able to actually see what is going to happen in the future? It appears that Sean David Morton's self proclaimed psychic abilities haven't been of much benefit to him.

In a California court ruling from June 2nd, Sean David Morton was ordered to pay all attorney fees associated with his loss pertaining to his suing an estate, a case that Sean David Morton has been pursuing for the last three years.

Sean David Morton has also lost several other lawsuits pertaining to former investors accusing him of fraud. Sean David Morton has lost a number of lawsuits over the past seven years, including his failed lawsuits against ufowatchdog.com.

So, if Sean David Morton is a psychic, why doesn't he see all of this coming? This isn't meant to be humorous or the use of a bad cliche, but one has to wonder how someone boasting to have a 90% accuracy rate (which Sean David Morton does not) can't predict his own future.

In a 2008 lawsuit filed against Sean David Morton and Melissa Ann Morton by a former investor, records reveal that The Morton failed to appear as ordered by the court to scheduled depositions. Their excuse for not appearing? Apparently Sean David Morton and Melissa Ann Morton said they would not appear because they were not being paid a public appearance fee.

The Plaintiff in the case, Christopher Bass, was awarded a judgment against The Mortons in the case. In many cases where The Mortons have been sued, they have filed long winded and rambling papers with the court, including one document which blamed their legal woes on former President George Bush and racist judges. Take those baffling statements and top them off with what many would call outlandish with The Mortons having the nerve to ask to be paid a public appearance fee to fulfill their obligation to take part in deposition proceedings!

In one filing submitted by The Mortons to the court, the presiding judged noted, "Although it is somewhat difficult to decipher Plaintiffs' [Mortons'] rambling and confusing Complaint, the Court concludes that the Complaint falls well below the "plausibility" standard established..."

The fraud case filed against The Mortons by the SEC is still pending. In early March, the SEC claimed The Mortons had duped investors out of over $6.8mil and that The Mortons had illegally diverted funds for their own use.

Sean David Morton back to business

After initially publishing that an "official press release" would be coming regarding charges that Sean David Morton defrauded investors out of over $6mil, it looks like it is back to business as usual for Morton.

The image left shows Morton's website announcing a pending press release that never came to be. Morton's website is now back in operation after it was practically left bare days after the SEC announcing its lawsuit against Morton.

Morton is again back to his old hat of hawking his predictions and making appearances at New Age variety events.

For one speaking event he will be at, Morton has his biography listed, which includes, "His political and economic predictions shocked the nation. [...] He also predicted exact dates for the post-90's decline of the DOW and NASDAQ, and has given the exact levels -- and timing-of their subsequent rise and fall. "

I'm sure this claim of Morton's alleged accuracy in predicting the markets will come to a shock to all of his investors who lost their money.

With current and pending civil lawsuits, will criminal charges be filed in the case of the so-called psychic accused of swindling $6mil ?

With the SEC announcing its filing of civil litigation against Sean David Morton, coupled with private litigation, the logical question that comes to mind is if criminal charges will be filed.

In 1992, supposed psychic Sylvia Browne was criminally charged for diverting funds from a mining investment operation into her psychic research foundation. While it wasn't anything near the $6,000,000 Sean David Morton is accused of defrauding investors of, Morton's legal woes certainly do refelct the case of Browne's.

Of course, any time investor fraud is brought up, one cannot but help to think of Bernie Madoff and the hefty 150 year prison sentence he received for his massive Ponzi scheme. Madoff's troubles began once the SEC decided to take a closer look at what he was doing with investor funds.

Since it is patently clear nobody can rely on Morton for tomorrow's headlines today, we'll all just have to wait for tomorrow's news tomorrow.

While this information remains unconfirmed at this time, ufowatchdog.com has received a report that the Internal Revenue Service has placed a lien against Sean David Morton in the amount of $750,000.00.

Sources close to an investigation into the accusation made by the SEC that Morton (pictured left) scammed investors out of over $6,000,000 state that the IRS has just filed the lien against Morton and that it is tied into Morton's business front known as the Prophecy Research Institute, which, as long ago reported by ufowatchdog.com, is an apartment space rented by Morton.

ufowatchdog.com also reported that the Prophecy Research Institute was not listed as a non-profit organization according to Publication 78, the IRS's official publication on non-profit entities operating within the United States.

Attempts at the time of this blog post to confirm the information went unanswered.

Self proclaimed psychic Sean David Morton and his wife (some might say accomplice) Melissa Morton are alleged to have scammed investors out of over $6,000,000 in a scheme the SEC claims that Sean David Morton told investors and potential investors he could predict the outcome of trading foreign currencies.

Sean David Morton was so bold with his claims that he wrote to potential investors, “I have called ALL the highs and lows of the market, giving EXACT DATES for rises and crashes over the last 14 years,” while alleging the investment had at one point made a 117% profit.

Apparently that boast turned out to be just that, and the SEC isn't the only lawsuit The Mortons are or have faced in connection with their alleged $6,000,000 fraud.

In various lawsuits filed by private parties, there have been at least four separate legal actions filed against Sean David Morton, Melissa Morton, and their companies used in the allaeged fraud racket; Vajra Productions, LLC, 27 Investments, LLC, Delphi Associates Investment Group, and Magic Eight Ball Distributing, Inc., including the two following cases from a year ago:

In the official complaint filed against the The Mortons by the SEC, mention is made of at least two New York residents successfully suing The Mortons. It is unknown how many other lawsuits have been filed against The Mortons, but surely with over one-hundred investors allegedly being defrauded, there are likely more lawsuits on the way.

It's already been said, but how did such a supposedly successful psychic not foresee such an event coming into his life? Perhaps he was too busy seeing dollar signs...

Sean David Morton and Melissa Ann Morton, his alleged accomplice in a scheme to defraud investors out of more than $6,000,000.00, attempted to stop an investigation being conducted by the Securities and Exchange Commission as far back as March 2009.

The suit filed by The Mortons is filled with what can only be described as a mass of disjointed finger-pointing ranging from blaming legislation passed in the 1980s by the senior George W. Bush to racist judges, In and Out Burger, Disneyland, allegedly corrupt civil servants, and more.

Sean David Morton is no stranger to losing lawsuits, and the question everyone has asked is how a supposed psychic was unable to foresee any of these events.

It appears the SEC served an investigative subpoena on Premiere Broadcasting, the company that owns the Coast to Coast AM radio program, seeking recordings of Sean David Morton's radio appearances. Sean David Morton claimed in his failed legal action against the SEC that the service of this subpoena ended his "17-year radio career as as the number one guest on Coast to Coast AM, as Premiere Broadcasting has now banned Morton from the show..."

A hearing is scheduled to take place this month in New York pertaining to the SEC's lawsuit against The Mortons.

SEC Charges Nationally Known Psychic in Multi-Million Dollar Securities Fraud

Washington, D.C., March 4, 2010 — The Securities and Exchange Commission today charged a self-proclaimed psychic who fraudulently raised $6 million after telling investors he could predict stock market highs and lows.

The SEC's charges were filed in U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York against Sean David Morton, who bills himself as "America's Prophet," as well as three corporate entities that Morton co-owns with his wife Melissa Morton under the umbrella of the Delphi Associates Investment Group.

Additional Materials

According to the SEC's complaint, Morton began soliciting investors around the summer of 2006 by telling them that he would use his psychic expertise to provide investment guidance to his investing team. In one newsletter to potential investors, Morton falsely stated: "I have called ALL the highs and lows of the market giving EXACT DATES for rises and crashes over the last 14 years." Morton used his monthly newsletter, his Web site, his appearances on a nationally syndicated radio show, and appearances at public events to promote his psychic abilities. Morton made numerous materially false representations relating to his psychic abilities in order to solicit investors for the Delphi Investment Group.

"Morton's self-proclaimed psychic powers were nothing more than a scam to attract investors and steal their money," said George S. Canellos, Director of the SEC's New York Regional Office.

The SEC alleges that Morton told investors he would pool their funds to trade in foreign currencies. However, according to the SEC's complaint, Morton lied to investors about his past successes and about key aspects of the Delphi Investment Group, including the use of investor funds and the liquidity of the funds. He falsely claimed that the profits in the accounts were audited and certified.

According to the SEC's complaint, Morton fraudulently raised more than $6 million from more than 100 investors for the Delphi Investment Group. Morton invested only about half of the funds with foreign currency trading firms. Unbeknownst to investors, instead of investing all of the funds into foreign currency trading firms, Morton or his wife diverted some of the investor funds. For instance, the Mortons diverted at least $240,000 of investor funds to their own nonprofit religious organization, Prophecy Research Institute (PRI).

Melissa Morton and PRI are named as relief defendants in the SEC's complaint. Corporate entities co-owned by Morton who are charged as defendants in the SEC's enforcement action are Vajra Productions, LLC, 27 Investments, LLC, and Magic Eight Ball Distributing, Inc.

The SEC's complaint charges each of the defendants with violations of Sections 5(a), 5(c) and 17(a) of the Securities Act of 1933, and Section 10(b) of the Securities Exchange Act of 1934 and Rule 10b-5 thereunder. The complaint further charges that the relief defendants were unjustly enriched by receiving investor funds. The complaint seeks a final judgment permanently restraining and enjoining the defendants from future violations of the above provisions of the federal securities laws. The complaint further seeks a final judgment ordering the defendants, jointly and severally, to disgorge their ill-gotten gains plus prejudgment interest, ordering the relief defendants to disgorge their ill-gotten gains plus prejudgment interest, and ordering the defendants to pay financial penalties. The complaint also seeks a final judgment ordering the defendants and relief defendants to provide a verified accounting.

The Great Roswell Debate - Further Update

On August 13, 2007, I made an offer to Kal Korff and Kevin Randle to stage an all-expenses paid debate between the two of them about Roswell here in Halifax, Nova Scotia, with all profits going to American and Canadian veteran's charities. I put a one week time limit on the offer.

Major Randle accepted immediately. Despite e-mailing him directly, Mr. Korff chose not to respond. I assumed he might be busy, or thinking it over, so I extended the deadline to accept the offer by a further week... which ran out at Midnight AST last night (i.e. 4 1/2 hours ago).

All of this came about because Mr. Korff called Major Randle a "coward" because he wouldn't accept an offer to appear on the X-Zone to debate Roswell with Mr. Korff. Of course, Major Randle, who doesn't listen to the X-Zone, was unaware of that offer when it was made (because he was never contacted directly). Mr. Korff has no such excuse, because, as I said, the offer was sent directly to his e-mail address.

People can draw their own conclusions from all of this. As I said, not only did Major Randle immediately accept my offer, he also accepted a subsequent offer from Rob McConnell to appear on the X-Zone (the first time Randle had been formally asked), on condition that Mr. Korff also accept my offer to debate in person, and on condition that Brad Sparks, who has refuted the Project Mogul explanation favoured by Mr. Korff, also be invited on the X-Zone for the debate.

For my part, I'm a fair-minded guy, so I'll leave it like this - the offer is closed for now, but all Mr. Korff has to do is contact me directly (he knows both my e-mail address and phone number), and indicate that he is willing to accept my original offer, at which point I'll consider whether to proceed with the debate. So the door is still open for Mr. Korff to make the Project Mogul case in an indendently [sic] moderated debate with Major Randle.

All he has to do is call, and we'll go from there.

Korff vs. Randle and the Great Roswell Debate

Just a quick bit about this - some radio show host invited Randle to debate Korff on his show, of course this came on the heels of Paul Kimball's offer to Korff. Kevin Randle did accept the offer of the radio host and had the following to say:

Following is my exact response to McConnell:

Yes I will debate on the following conditions:

1. Kal Korff apologizes publicly and on his web site for calling me a coward and removes the various offending postings from all locations that he has posted them, his colleagues, subordinates and friends have posted them.

2. Korff agrees to the Paul Kimball debate. It costs him nothing and provides for another forum.

3. That you invite Brad Sparks to participate in his debate. And I reserve the right to postpone the debate if a military assignment makes it difficult to appear on August 30. At the moment my schedule is clear.

That went to McConnell more than a week ago and I have not heard a response other than McConnell saying he would pass it along to Korff.

I will note that Korff's allegation, that I'm a coward for refusing to debate Roswell is untrue because I have debated a number of people about Roswell including Korff. I mentioned on my blog that we had debated in Seattle. Rather than apologizing for calling me names, he merely said that he had forced me be back down on some point during the debate. Frankly I don't remember but I suspect it had something to do with the Marcel file being released into the public arena illegally.

While I posted this at ufowatchdog.com, I forgot to post this update here from Paul Kimball on his extension of the invitation to Kal K. Korff and Kevin Randle:

Actually, as Mr. Korff doesn't seem to have updated his site in a couple of days, it's possible he's out of town. Therefore, in the interests of fairness, I'm extending the deadling to Midnight AST on the 27th of August. I sent an e-mail directly to Mr. Korff, and I'm sure Rob McConnell has informed him as well, of the original offer, so he clearly knows about it. Perhaps he is out of town, or just needs some more time to think about it. Either way, I'm keen to see it happen - heck, even Royce Myers III has told me that he'll fly out here to see it (I think others might as well), so it promises to be a major event... if only Mr. Korff agrees to show up.

Kevin Randle accepted the invite immediately.

Looks like Paul Kimball has made an offer too good to refuse by inviting Kal K. Korff to a live, moderated debate with Kevin Randle over their conflicting views on Roswell. Kevin Randle immediately agreed to the debate while the word is not in on Korff.

I've remained quiet on the subject of Korff after having my say last January, as I feel that providing attention to a nut only fuels their lunacy and usually at the expense of decent people. But since Korff is still flapping his jaw I will be addressing Kolonel Kooky and his mania here shortly and then bid this goofball Korff adieu. Anyhow...

I took this screenshot off Korff's website so he can't pull his usual hit-and-run antic of posting something and then removing it or changing it. Since Korff claims he has never lost a structured debate, then I suppose he has no excuse for not accepting the invitation. So, will Korff step up or slither away? I'd bet on the latter and wonder what excuse Korff may offer to bow out.

I ask that anyone reading this blog (hello, anyone out there?) submit their own Korff excuse. I'll start:

" I did not receive this invitation because I was out involved in a super duper top secret McOperation. Duh! Where the hell is my ketchup and toy surprise?! "

A bit lame, yes, but it is a start. Below is what Paul Kimball posted and I know it has made the rounds far and wide...

Korff vs. Randle and the Great Roswell Debate

A few days ago, Kal Korff called Major Kevin Randle a "coward" for allegedly refusing to debate Mr. Korff on the X-Zone radio show about the Roswell case. Of course, no direct invitation or offer was sent to Major Randle, other than the one that Mr. Korff made on the radio show in passing - a show that Major Randle does not listen to. Hardly a bona fide invitation.

Mr. Korff also never mentioned that Mr. Randle has already debated him, back at the height of Roswell's popularity.

No matter, because the X-Zone would hardly have been a neutral forum in which to hold such a debate anyway. The host, Rob McConnell, is a well-known ETH skeptic (to say the least), and often mocks and ridicules proponents of the Roswell case in particular. He is also a friend of Mr. Korff's, and Mr. Korff serves as the "European Bureau Chief" for the X-Zone. In short, on top of the invitation not being bona fide (as it was not directly communicated to major Randle), the X-Zone is not a neutral site for any debate between Mr. Korff and Major Randle.

Halifax, on the other hand, is just such a place.

Accordingly, I extend to Mr. Korff and Major Randle the following offer.

Redstar Films Limited will fly each of you to Halifax, Nova Scotia, at a time of mutual convenience within the next eight months, for a live debate about the Roswell case.

Now, as I am a friend of Major Randle's, I will not be involved in any way, other than paying the airfare, hotel costs, and a per diem for both Mr. Korff and Major Randle, and arranging the venue, most likely at one of Halifax's universities, but possibly at a public library or some other site.

To make sure that Mr. Korff cannot claim any bias here, we would use a moderator qualified by the Nova Scotia Debating Society. The debate would be conducted under cross-examination rules, which means that Mr. Korff and Major Randle would be able to ask each other questions in a structured setting. Finally, it would be conducted in front of a live audience, and video-taped for DVD, broadband and possibly television distribution. Half of the profits, after my costs for staging the debate were recouped, would go to an American military-related veteran's charity or organization that Mr. Korff and Major Randle mutually agreed upon. The other half of the profits would go to a similar Canadian-related veteran's charity or organization.

This invitation will be sent directly to Mr. Korff and Major Randle. It will be posted to UFO Updates, and to a number of message forums to which I belong. I will forward it to The Daily Grail and the Anomalist.

Mr. Korff and Major Randle will have one week to respond - by August 20, 2007 - at which time, if one of them has not responded, I will consider that a "no" and the offer will be pulled off the table.
